The Arts Co-op Program offers students a way to enrich their educational experiences for personal and professional growth by facilitating opportunities for paid work experience. The program has a variety of local, national, and international work placements. If you are planning on working abroad, this is a great way to get your feet wet.

Employer: Global Affairs Canada

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Position: Desk Officer Intern, EU-EFTA Commercial Relations Division

Description: Write letters, prepare briefing documents, and conduct research for the office of the Minister of International Trade and the European Union / European Free Trade Association Commercial Relations division. Countries of responsibility include Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Employer: Canadian Embassy in Thailand

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Position: Co-op Student Intern – Political Section

Description: Support the administration and development of Canada’s bilateral relationship with Thailand, liaising with Global Affairs Canada, other government ministries, and other diplomatic missions in Southeast Asia in order to advance Canada’s foreign policy priorities.

Employer: Ministry of Finance, Financial Institutions Commission

Location: Vancouver, Canada

Position: Junior Analyst, Policy

Description: Undertake research and comparative analysis of international regulatory regimes, reviewing policies and guidance issued by Canadian regulatory and supervisory authorities and determining their applicability to provincially regulated financial institutions.
