IR Major Application Form 2025

All information collected in this application form will only be used for evaluating your application for admission to the International Relations Major. The information will only be seen by the two program co-chairs and the IR Program Manager. Questions about the collection of this information may be directed to irmajor.program@ubc.ca.

Please select which courses you expect to have completed prior to September 1 2025. Completion of one area is required for admission. You do not need to have completed all of these courses in order to apply for the IR Major. Completion of all areas will be required to graduate.

The IR Language Requirement exists in addition to the Faculty of Arts Language Requirement. The IR Language Requirement is not a prerequisite for admission to the IR Major but is something that you need to be aware of. The questions below are intended for your learning and self-assessment. Your responses do not affect our decision of whether to admit you to the IR Program.
