The Liu Institute for Global Issues is an excellent location to hold meetings and events such as lectures, corporate retreats, or conferences. The space can be booked by UBC community members as well as external parties.
IR Student Requests
IR students can book the space at the Liu at no cost for IR related events that align with the Liu Institute’s mandate. IR students can also book the Liu’s smaller meeting rooms for group study sessions.
All IR student space requests must be approved by the IR Program Manager and Advisor. IR student requests for space should be submitted by email to email@example.com and must include the following:
- Organizing student’s name and student number
- Date and Time of Event
- Name and description of event
- Expected number of participants
- Desired space
Larger events should be booked well in advance and may require additional meetings with the IR Manager and Advisor. Requests for study space should be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week prior to the desired study date.
Students who book space but who do not show-up for their booking without a valid reason will no longer be permitted to book space at the Liu.
