Applications coming up for work & volunteer opportunities

Participating in a work or volunteer position can be an incredible way of developing your skills and translating knowledge you are learning in class to a different environment. The three programs below have applications that are opening soon and that you may want to start considering now.

Work Learn Program

Work Learn positions for the 2019 Winter Session will be open on CareersOnline from August 6th to 20th. These positions are on-campus and to be eligible you must be taking classes in both terms of the 2019 Winter Session. There are many different kinds of Work Learn positions but you can expect all of them to provide you with an opportunity to work in a professional environment while achieving your own learning goals, building a professional network and supporting your development of professional skills.

Arts Co-op Program

For those students who will have 30 credits remaining in May 2020, you can still apply to the Arts Co-op program. More information about the application will be released in September but it is worth considering now whether this is something you are interested in. To learn more about Arts Co-op search through the student profiles on this page – you can even navigate specifically to profiles of other IR Majors.

Arts Internship Program

The Arts Internship Program gets students off campus and into non-profit organizations throughout the Lower Mainland. Applications for this will open in the Fall. Examples of the type of role and work areas that have been done by students in the past can be found here. Please note that Arts Internship positions are unpaid, volunteer opportunities.

Happy planning!
